Symposium Archive: 2024
We met at the 2024 Great Hearts National Symposium to renew the
Great Conversation. American society today desperately needs a revival
of the ability to engage in a real “logos” – a serious conversation –
about the good life. Great conversations are founded on the wonder and curiosity inspired
by the important texts and ideas in literature, history, science, math, and philosophy that
have always animated and informed the quest for knowledge. It is these texts and ideas,
and the abiding questions they give rise to, that students encounter through a classical
liberal arts education. The renewal of the great conversation engages teachers and
students, friends, and even foes, in the pursuit of amity and greater wisdom!

The 2024 National Symposium for Classical Education served as a dynamic forum to renew the Great Conversation. Through keynote addresses, scholarly talks, panel discussions, and hands-on workshops, the Symposium empowered educators and leaders to engage deeply with the ideas and ideals of the classical tradition. Together, we explored how classical education can continue to inspire students, foster virtue, and provide a framework for leading a meaningful life in today’s complex world.
