Classical Education Symposium 2027 Speaker Proposal Form

Recovering Reading and Reason in a Distracted Age

Our present moment is characterized by ubiquitous screens, fractured attention, and growing isolation. As habits of deep reading, careful reasoning, and thoughtful conversation erode, something essential about our shared cultural and civic life is at risk.

Classical education is a salve to all of these ills. Engagement with “the best that’s been thought and written”, grounds us in the power of words, the discipline of argument from first principles, and the wonder of the natural world. Classical education forms habits of attentiveness, intellectual humility, and moral imagination that are indispensable for human understanding in any age – and especially in one as fractious and fickle as ours.

Please join us at the 2027 Great Hearts National Symposium for Classical Education, Recovering Reading and Reason in a Distracted Age.
