Abby Cox became Utah’s first lady when her husband Spencer J. Cox was sworn in as governor in January 2021. In this role, Abby hopes to inspire Utahns to break down the barriers that separate us by connecting through our differences, sharing our stories, and building our communities.
Abby’s initiative is called “Show Up,” because you can pretend to care, but you can’t pretend to Show Up! She uses her platform to champion educator wellness, foster care awareness and support, expanded access to Special Olympics Unified Sports in schools across Utah, and statewide service.
Abby is a mother, a runner and a foodie. She is happiest on the back of a horse or cozied up with a book.
